01Arch Unique begins
A bureau built around architectural clarity, atmosphere and attention to detail.
Bureau · Thailand · Since 2013
A design bureau led by architect Marina Orekhova, creating contemporary places with a clear identity and a strong relationship to context.
Architecture in dialogue with place Our story
Arch Unique was founded in 2013. The bureau's work is based on a deep understanding of context — the location, the environment and the lifestyle of the client.
From Koh Samui and Phuket, our team works across architecture, interior design, hospitality and development concepts, bringing one coherent design language from first idea to final detail.
Evolution
The bureau has grown across scales and countries without turning design into a formula.
01A bureau built around architectural clarity, atmosphere and attention to detail.
02Private residences, hotels, restaurants, wellness and public environments across countries and cultures.
03Koh Samui and Phuket bring climate, landscape and indoor–outdoor life to the core of the work.
04Architecture, interiors, concepts and procurement developed as one continuous design thought.
Every project starts with what is already there: land, light, climate and culture.
Architecture, interiors and objects should feel like parts of the same thought.
Distinctive design must also be buildable, durable and commercially intelligent.
Founder and Creative Director
Marina leads the creative direction of Arch Unique, connecting precise architectural thinking with the emotional experience of space. Since founding the bureau in 2013, she has worked across private residences, hospitality, wellness and public interiors — moving confidently between the scale of a masterplan and the intimacy of a single object.
Her work is recognisable not through a repeated style, but through clarity: a strong relationship to context, controlled proportion, material depth and an insistence that every expressive move also has a purpose. Marina’s role is to protect that central idea from the first conversation to the final detail on site.
“The project should feel as though it could only exist in this place, for these people.”
How we think
The visual answer changes from project to project. The questions behind it stay rigorous.
We read the land, orientation, climate, existing structure, cultural context and the client’s real way of living before deciding what the project should become.
Atmosphere is designed through sequence, proportion, light, acoustics and material — not through decoration alone.
Arrival, pause, privacy, service and daily rituals are mapped as a continuous experience. A beautiful plan must also feel effortless to inhabit.
Each project needs a clear thought strong enough to guide hundreds of later choices without turning the result into a formula.
A private home must support daily life. A hospitality project must support the guest and the operation. Beauty and performance are resolved together.
Climate, construction realities, available skills and regional sourcing are treated as design knowledge, not limitations to hide.
We distinguish between gestures that define identity, details that improve daily experience and expenditure that adds noise without meaning.
Clear documentation, material decisions, procurement and design supervision protect the concept when hundreds of practical choices reach the site.
